"Lutyens & Rubinstein" doesn't sound like the catchiest name for a bookshop but then again it doesn't need to be as agents Sarah Lutyens and Felicity Rubinstein are well known within literary circles (with clients including Mark Billingham, Michael Chabon, Kate Figes, Claire Messud and Arabella Weir) and they've got an absolutely fabulous store a hop, skip and a jump away from the Electric Cinema. They certainly espouse the independent credentials - "We have wanted to expand into bookselling for a long time and now the moment seems right. We seem to be entering a golden age of independent bookselling as readers become increasingly disenchanted with the supermarket atmosphere of the chains and there is a new appetite amongst book buyers for a more carefully curated experience" The Bookseller 2009. Browse the shop, wander over to Mr. Christian's for a coffee and then wander back for some more browsing.
