There is only really one viable way to get a book looked at by a Traditional Publisher and that is via a Literary Agent. These are professionals whose job it is to sell your book on your behalf to a publisher and manage your literary career.
The Writers' and Artists' Handbook lists the majority of LIterary Agents and is a good place to start your research. Literary Agents' websites should then list their submission guidelines
for manuscripts.
We often find that authors would like a bit of help with the process either because they don't have the time or just would like a bit of advice on the submissions process. As such, we offer a service where we will have an appraisal meeting with you to discuss the theme of your book, a possible marketing "hook" which may give your book the commercial potential for a Publisher and, in collaboration with you, we will put together a covering letter and author biography. Finally we will look at which Literary Agents you should contact and any tweaks that need to be made for a particular agent's submission requirements.
This service is not just aimed at those who only want to go for a Traditional Publishing deal from the start. We realise that for many authors the indie-publishing option is a path to building a commercial following to give them the credentials for a Literary Agent to take them on. So, if you're already indie-published and would like another shot at the Traditional Publishing route to market, we can help you out too.
